I took the photo below today and decided to add a lighting setup to display the 'HOW-TO behind this style of photograph. The idea is to set each light up separately. Each strobe is set up behind the model and has a 20% Honeycomb Grid added to diffuse the light....the idea is check how the light catches each side of the cheek, then build each light up evenly...then it's a matter of adding Gobo's / boards to block light spilling into the lens. A light behind the camera is fired into a silver umbrella to illuminate the front of the face.....then it is a matter of working with the camera settings, F-Stops, etc, shutter speed to see how the light works with each other. All the strobes are fired with a Elinchrom trigger
The final image was moved into Adobe Lightroom, sharpened and color corrected and tweaked to enhance the shadows etc..viola!
